A key milestone in supporting Dutch sport companies to scale in the Spanish market.
On May 22, we proudly launched the Orange Sports Hub Spain in the dynamic sports capital of Barcelona. This collaborative hub offers Dutch companies direct access to Spain’s rapidly evolving sports ecosystem — a market that is actively investing in innovation, fan engagement, sports infrastructure, and technology in the run-up to the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
The launch event took place at the prestigious Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, bringing together over 50 influential stakeholders from the Spanish sports sector — including clubs, federations, companies, and (semi-)governmental organizations.
Sander Waare and José Coronado opened the event with an inspiring presentation about the Johan Cruyff Foundation and the TRAM Barcelona Open. Afterwards, the five founding members of the hub showcased their innovative solutions:
- AAA-LUX (Peter Vermaas & Nancy Rojas)
- Bundeling (Bjorn Poels)
- RSI SPORTS GROUP (Arnoud Fiolet)
- Share Logistics (Tristan Bierenbroodspot)
- Sorama (Mark van den Berk)
They made valuable new connections and engaged in promising business conversations.
💡 Why the Orange Sports Hub is a game-changer:
✔️ Local presence without high startup costs
✔️ Dedicated business support from our Barcelona team
✔️ Direct access to key networks, projects, and decision-makers
✔️ Strategic programming with events and activities throughout Spain
✔️ Greater visibility through joint communications and positioning
The Orange Sports Hub is an initiative of Orange Sports Forum in close collaboration with the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) Barcelona and our local partner Walter Joosten. Following the successful launch of our first hub in Lausanne (2024), this marks our second hub — and the first one in Southern Europe.
